What is it?

Material used to mark lines, normally white, on pitches and outfields. The material used should not damage the grass plant.

How it’s used

Applied to the grass leaf or soil surface to identify areas and positions in the game of cricket.

Timing of use

As required.

Effects of incorrect procedure Grass plant damaged and line becomes semi-permanent.

Equipment needed

Application is by paint brush, aerosol or marking machine.

Practical Tips

Try and mark your pitch when the grass plant is dry as the marking will last longer.
